Woodfire Heating
When it comes to woodfires there are two types of heat:
Radiant
Radiant fires heat quickly. The heat radiates from the outside surfaces of the fire. If you sit close to them you can get warm even if the whole room has not had time to heat up. A radiant fire is more suited to homes with high ceilings or poor insulation.
Convection
Convection fires 'convect' the heat from the top of the fire, the air is warmed from the ceiling down & thus the warmth may take longer to be felt. Convection fires heat more evenly throughout the home. They are more suitable for a house with a standard ceiling height & where a more even heat is desired.
